Studying Australia

In Bible Clubs Jr., we are studying about the continent of Australia. Actually, we are studying about the countries in that area, because in Brazil, they do NOT count Australia as a separate continent. Each week, two children are asked to share some interesting facts about that area of the world. Becky, and friend, Nathalia, did a great job! (FYI: Brazil does NOT consider Antarctica a continent either - imagine my kids' surprise when they heard there were only 5 continents!!!)

Blast from the Past (last year!)

Hard to believe it's been 9 months since we've been back in Brazil. I found this picture in our files (Cook's house in Kokomo)! They even put out the Brazilian flag for us (background)! Just thought I'd share this fun picture.

Josh places in triathlon

Our seminary held a mini-triathlon. (80 meters swimming, 3600 meters biking, 1800 meters running) Josh placed 2nd in his age category (12-14 yrs.)

Baby Susan's dedication service

Pastor Charles and wife, Cris, had a baby girl and named her Susan! We were excited to be able to attend her dedication service and celebrate this precious gift from God. Charles and Cris had been married seven years before God chose to give them this little girl and she was well worth the wait! Charles' testimony of God's grace and perfect timing, as well as their God-honoring attitudes through it all, had the church in tears of gratitude. What an honor to have them give the name Susan to their precious baby!

Ken teaching the children

Susan teaches the 5-6 yr-old S.S. class and, when not traveling, Ken helps her. Here you see him teaching/acting out/telling the story of Abraham, Sarah, and Isaac. The kids were riveting in their seats as he told of God's provision of the lamb that took Isaac's place and of God's provision of the Lamb who took our place!

Bible Clubs Jr.

Bible Clubs, Jr. - the part of our ministry that works with 7-12 yr. old children. This year, at the Club in which Joshua and I help, we are studying the book of Acts and have the theme of reaching the "uttermost part of the earth" with the gospel of Christ. (Acts 1:8) Pictures: Daniel with his small group (Josh helping), Becky with her small group, and Daniel with kids learning the gestures to remember the theme of each chapter of Acts.

Rachel turns 16!

Rachel had some girlfriends over to help celebrate her 16th birthday. Here, some of them are pictured having breakfast, after a rather late night of a sleepover. We praise the Lord for Rachel's life and the sweet, young lady she is becoming!

A little competition

Rachel and her girlfriends from church played some of the seminary girls in a game of indoor soccer. They are training for the Sports Marathon coming up on May 1.

Serving One Another

Joshua's discipleship group came to our house for a few hours of work. Their leader, Artur, (on ladder) is having the boys work at each of their own houses as a service project. These 8 boys came for two hours and mowed the lawn, used the weed eater, raked, washed the gutters and the car, and had a great time! They also enjoyed some cake and candies when they were done.

Mexican Night

Our Clubs' staff got together for a tasty night of Mexican food! Can you believe that only one other (outside our family) had ever eaten Mexican food??? They really liked it and we had a great time. We also celebrated the April birthdays (pictured blowing out the candles) - Rachel, Bibi, and Estevão.
