Musical Duo

Agnus Dei - Alleluia, alleluia, for the Lord God Almighty Reigns!
Alleluia! Holy, holy are You, Lord God Almighty!
Worthy is the Lamb, worthy is the Lamb - Amen!

Rachel (flute) and Susan (saxophone) played the prelude in church on Sunday evening. This isn't the best of pictures, but with music stands in the way and the platform up so high, this will have to do! They love music!!!

Singing praises

Rachel's friend, Alice, (far right) suffered head trauma from a bike accident two weeks ago. Sunday night, Alice, Rachel, and two friends sang a song of praise to the Lord for sparing her life in a miraculous way!

Back in Serra Negra

Ken and I had the opportunity to return to a church in Serra Negra, pastored by our dear friends, Charles and Cris. (see Sept. '07 in blog) I had the privilege to serve in the area of music at a wedding on Saturday evening. The young couple who got married was the first to go through the discipleship process during courting, counseling during their engagement, as well as never having been previously married! This is a small church with many new believers and they are just learning what God expects in their relationships and it was a special time to see many who had never attended a christian wedding, nor even been in a church, to attend this service and also hear the gospel message!
Then on Sunday morning, Ken shared an initial training with the church because they are gearing up to begin Clubs for their young people this year!

Beach Camp continued.....

We all enjoyed time with "old" friends and also making new friends! The couple with us (pictured) are newly married, but Eduardo was in our seminary group years ago, but now married and a missionary! The couple (Johnny and Thays) who coordinates beach camp are also long-time acquaintances because the wife is from our church here in Atibaia. The couple (Thomas and Anges) who is the director of WOL-South ministries is also long time friends we meet as newly weds, almost 18 yrs. ago, at WOL - NY. They too had a vision for starting Bible Clubs in Brazil and are now leading a flourishing ministry in their area. How time flies!!! We praise God for these faithful servants and colleagues in ministry!

Beach Camp 2008

Beach camp is at the outskirts of a city about 10 hours from us. The land is owned by a christian man and was offered to WOL-South about two years ago, to be used in January, to reach young people for Christ. The campers sleep in tents, the meetings and meals are held in a large tent, and the beach is within walking distance. Everything is very rustic in nature, but a whole lot of fun! It did rain on the last day we were there, which did make life interesting, but the fun and learning continued!
The kids got to repel, go body boarding, play a Brazilian style baseball, as well as many other team events on the beach. The program was fantastic and we were excited to be a part of this ministry. Ken shared the Gospel and God worked in the hearts of many!
