Christmas 2007

We had 19 at our house for Christmas day and continue to thank the Lord for good friends here in Brazil! We enjoyed a day of food, fun, and fellowship as we celebrated the birth of our Lord and Savior!

Vacation

We spent 3 days at a beach house last week and enjoyed some vacation time as family. Despite the rainy weather, we had fun and were thankful for the chance to rest and relax a bit!

Filipe and Marina get married!

We had the privilege of being participants in a wedding on Saturday. We were honored to be a part of this special day and Ken was asked to say the final prayer of blessing. Filipe Niel is an ex-seminary student and was in our discipleship group for three years. He and his bride, Marina, plan on starting a church in Caldas Novas, which is about 12 hours from us. We thank the Lord for their lives and for one more young couple serving Christ!

Picture time!

An "up and coming" photographer friend, Micheli, came to take some pictures. We were working on an updated family picture. We had a fun time, and even took some silly shots in between!

Exciting weekend

This weekend was the seminary graduation and we praise the Lord for those who will be going to churches, mission fields, and different areas of ministry! (The boy pictured, Jacob, has greatly helped us in Clubs this year.) We also had the opportunity to attend a wedding. The bride is a missionary kid and the groom, a seminary student. On Sunday, Rachel (back row, right) participated in our church's youth choir cantata and we thank the Lord for the 20 or so people who accepted Christ at the invitation! Ken was at a Clubs training in Rio again this weekend. This was his last trip for the year and we will be glad to have him home on weekends for a bit now!

Singing at the hospital

Becky's Bible Club group presented their cantata at a local hospital. The children had the opportunity to share about Jesus' birth to all who were waiting for doctor's appointments, medical exams, and even patients were wheeled down to listen. We thank the Lord for another chance to share Christ with those in our community!

Soccer party

Rachel's Monday night soccer (indoor) team from church had their end-of-year party at our house! The coach and his wife, along with most of the girls, came for a time of fun and food! We had a great time! (Rachel is 2nd from left)
